On January 25, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a global management consulting company, released its latest report "The Way to Win in the New Era and New Pattern of Running a Medical Care in the Society", summarizing the main trends and key evolutions of the new pattern in the new era and the key evolution of the new pattern. , Puts forward the six strategies for the success of social medical institutions, and reveals to investors the key considerations for social capital to enter the hospital business through different paths.

 

One of the authors of the report, BCG partner and managing director Xia Xiaoyan, said: “At present, the total number of hospitals run by society has exceeded half of the total number of hospitals, but business indicators such as the number of patients only account for 16%. The next stage of the growth of social hospitals, More “qualitative” breakthroughs are needed, that is, qualitative growth. Development trends in all aspects are continuously and profoundly affecting the development of social medical services. We believe that China’s social medical services will usher in a new era, and social medical services will usher in a new era in the next ten years. The report points out the five major trends of social medical management in the new era:

1. Advancing social medical policies and practices together, and the trend of value medical treatment is beginning to emerge: a diversified pattern of medical treatment has initially taken shape, and the global trend of value medical treatment has also brought differentiated development opportunities to social medical institutions in China and promoted " Transition from "quantitative change" to "qualitative change".

2. The influx of diversified social capital helps the expansion and integration of social medical services: China's capital market has shown unprecedented growth in investment in private hospitals and public hospitals; investment institutions, pharmaceutical groups, insurance funds, and pharmaceutical-related industry chain companies are diversified The capital structure has become the core driving force for the sustainable development of social medical institutions. 

3. Multi-point practice and the rise of doctor groups to promote the marketization of doctor resources: The multi-point practice of doctors and the rapid rise of doctor groups provide opportunities for the rapid development of social medical institutions.

Encourage the development of commercial insurance and form cooperation with diversified payment parties: Driven by the medical reform, the future medical insurance integration model will become an important trend. 4、加强人力资源管理:大力加强对人力资源管理,从绩效管理、薪酬激励、职业发展、员工挽留等多管齐下,真正激活人才的积极性和潜力。 

5、多元化的外部合作:与包括公立医院和国际医院在内的机构开展广泛的多元化外部合作,迅速弥补自身能力短板,借力实现技术、经 验、资源等方面的瓶颈突破。 

6、积极探索医疗和保险结合:逐步构建多级诊疗网络,并探索与商业保险的紧密合作,最终为患者提供一体化的医疗健康解决方案。       

报告撰稿人之一,BCG 合伙人兼董事总经理吴淳女士表示:“在新时代新格局下,社会办医疗机构的聚焦点将逐步转向为患者提供更优质的疗效与价值,同时推动运营改善,提升业绩,真正意义上实现社会办医疗机构的核心价值。”

报告最后建议,在新时代、新格局下,社会资本投资医院将从过去五年聚焦的高端医疗、进入壁垒相对较低的私立专科连锁医院逐步转移到多元化的、向技术化和综合化方向拓展的机会:包括公立医院转制、运营质量良好的私立综合医院、专业化的医疗产业链延伸机构、以及发展逐渐成熟的医院集团等。
